Odoo POS Age Verification adds a controlled workflow for selling age-restricted products in an attended point of sale. A minimum age is set on the product, and before the product is added to the basket the POS shows the required age and the latest qualifying date of birth.
The cashier can confirm that the age has been checked or enter the customer's date of birth using a touch-friendly numeric keypad. The date of birth is not stored. For audit purposes, the order retains only the highest verified age threshold, verification method, time and cashier name.
What the module does
- allows a minimum age to be set on the product; a value of 0 means unrestricted
- shows the required age and latest qualifying date of birth before adding the product
- allows the cashier to confirm the age manually or check an entered date of birth
- uses the Odoo POS touch-friendly numeric keypad for date-of-birth entry
- adds no product when verification is cancelled, incomplete or unsuccessful
- reuses a higher verified threshold for lower-age products in the same order but requests a new check for a stricter threshold
- starts every new order in an unverified state
- does not require verification for negative refund lines but checks positive sales lines
- performs an additional check before payment so that restricted sales lines cannot remain unverified
- records the highest verified threshold, verification method, time and cashier name on the order.
