If the POS software and payment terminal do not exchange data, the cashier has to enter the purchase amount again to take payment. With Esrap’s integration, the amount passes from Odoo POS to the payment app running on the same Android device, and the payment result returns to the correct sale.
Odoo POS and SoftPOS run on the same device
Odoo POS manages the basket, products, prices and sales recording. SoftPOS turns a compatible NFC-enabled Android device into a terminal that accepts contactless payments. Esrap’s integration connects the apps running on the same device.
The cashier selects or scans products in Odoo POS and starts a card payment. The purchase amount is sent automatically to the payment app, where the customer taps their card or a device that supports contactless payments. The payment result returns to the correct sale in Odoo, together with the payment status and the necessary transaction references.
There is no need to enter the amount again or manually match the payment result to the POS sale. This reduces repetitive work and the risk of a difference between the purchase recorded at the till and the amount charged to the customer.
On a supported device, products can be added by scanning their barcodes. A model with a built-in printer can print the sales receipt and, where supported by the payment app, the payment receipt too.
An all-in-one POS device can serve as the main till at a single sales location, be taken to the customer or be prepared for use as an additional till. The device and configuration are chosen to suit the setting. In each case, Esrap’s integration connects the Odoo POS sale with the card payment.
Odoo POS can also run on a merchant’s own compatible Android phone. The Esrap POS Connect app connects the phone to the business’s Odoo POS, while a supported SoftPOS payment solution enables contactless payments on the same phone. Esrap helps check the phone’s compatibility and configure the solution.
The solution requires an internet connection to accept card payments.
Certified integration and a choice of payment services
Esrap’s Odoo POS SoftPOS integration is certified.
Esrap’s integration allows Odoo POS to work with Maksekeskus MakeCommerce POS, Swedbank’s Terminal mobiilis service and SEB’s payment terminal on a smart device. The device and payment solution are selected from supported combinations.
Esrap helps select the POS device and payment solution and checks their compatibility with an existing or newly introduced Odoo system. The merchant does not need to develop the transfer of the payment amount or the link between the payment result and the POS sale.
POS sales are part of the business’s Odoo system
Odoo POS is part of Odoo’s business management software. Alongside POS, the same system can handle inventory, eCommerce, customer management and accounting. These applications share data, and sales made at the till are recorded directly in Odoo.
Product details and prices can be managed centrally, with the product selection and price list assigned to each sales location available at its tills. Sales can also be linked to customers. There is no need to re-enter sales from a separate POS application into Odoo later.
Sales of stock-managed products are linked to Odoo inventory operations. The business can track which goods were sold and how each sale affects stock at the relevant location. POS reports show transactions and sales results by sales location. Invoicing and accounting can be handled in the same environment, depending on the applications and configuration in use.
There is no need to adopt every feature at once. You can start with the POS functions you need and later add inventory, purchasing or eCommerce, for example. This allows the POS solution to grow alongside the way your business operates.
